Nicolas MAVRAKANAS obtained his medical diploma in 2004. He trained for 6 years at the Ophthalmology Department of the University Hospitals of Geneva. He worked there as a clinical manager gaining experience in cataract and anterior ocular segment surgery. In 2009, he obtained his FMH specialist title in ophthalmology and in 2010 his doctorate in medicine at the University of Geneva. Subsequently, Doctor Mavrakanas was chosen to pursue a sub-specialty in the medical and surgical treatment of glaucoma at two renowned centers in the United Kingdom, first at Birmingham & Mildand Eye Centre, and then at Moorfields Eye Hospital in London. In 2013, he obtained his FMH specialist title in ophthalmic surgery. He then returned to his position as head of clinic at the University Hospitals of Geneva. In addition to his clinical experience, he publishes more than 20 scientific articles in international ophthalmic journals. In 2013 he opened his private practice in Geneva. Doctor Mavrakanas is affiliated with the Rive Ophthalmological Center, the General Beaulieu Clinic, the Grangettes Clinic as well as Vision Clinique. He is a member of the American Academy of Ophthalmology and the French Society of Ophthalmology. Also a member of the Swiss Society of Ophthalmology, he fulfills the requirements for continuing education.

Former assistant doctor at the University Hospitals of Geneva, Doctor Zsolt Varga obtained his medical degree from the University of Cambridge. He completed his specialization in ophthalmology and his extensive training in ophthalmosis in England, which allowed him to obtain the title of Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmology (FRCOphth). It was at the University of Geneva that he obtained his doctorate in medicine as well as his FMH specialist title in ophthalmology and ophthalmosurgery. His surgical activity focuses on anterior segment surgery and more specifically all advanced corneal transplant techniques, as well as cataract surgery and refractive surgery. Doctor Varga, who also devotes part of his time to teaching doctors in training, is currently a doctor associated with HUG as a specialist in cornea and cataracts and publishes numerous scientific articles.
